The 70th Republic Day of India was celebrated at GMR Hyderabad International Airport with great patriotic fervor and camaraderie. On this occasion, Mr. SGK Kishore, Chief Executive Officer, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL) hoisted the national flag amidst the rendition of the National Anthem. Mr. Kishore congratulated and addressed the gathering on this occasion.

In his address, Mr. SGK Kishore recalled the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters to become free from the clutches of the colonial British rule. He also added that the aviation sector was a key contributor to the nation’s GDP and in connecting people across borders globally. Mr. Kishore, also elaborated on the robust passenger growth of over 20% YOY. He also spoke at length about the current expansion plans of the airport which once when complete would be a futuristic and tech enabled airport taking passenger experience to an altogether new level. He thanked all the airport stakeholders for their collaborative support in enhancing passenger experience and operational efficiency. Mr. Sudhir Kumar, Chief Airport Security Officer (CASO) and Commandant – CISF Unit, RGIA, also graced the occasion.

CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) security personnel along with the ARFF (Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting) and RAXA security personnel presented the guard of honor to the distinguished guests. CISF Sniffer Dog Squad presented an interesting show highlighting the preparedness for security at the airport. Captivating weapon tactics were enacted by the Commandoes of CISF Quick Response Team. Passengers and visitors also took part and enjoyed this patriotic event organized at the airport.
