Hyderabad, 07 December 2022: GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL) has recently received Industry recognition for its Business Excellence (BE) journey from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). GHIAL was recognised for the maturity of its Business in the Gold category at the 30th edition of the Quality Summit held at Bangalore on 25-26th November'22 by CII’s Institute of Quality (IQ).
GHIAL has been on the journey of Business Excellence for the last 10 years with its GMR Business Excellence Model (GBEM). The GBEM model is based on the globally recognised Malcolm Baldridge Business Excellence Framework. The model comprises a set of core values found in extremely high- performing companies. Further, the excellence journey showcases how these values cascade down and become part of operational processes and ensure organisational sustainability and long-term value creation. The excellence journey saw HYD airport emerge as one of the emerging industry leaders in India. Over the period, the BE journey guided GHIAL in building holistic excellence in every aspect of the business. It launched initiatives like Continuous Improvement Projects (CIPs), Idea Factory, Knowledge Management, CSAT Process, improving customer complaint management processes, and building a safety culture to name a few.
